Here you will find detailed time series on sovereign debt developments - by debtor (central, state and local government, special funds) and type of debt - and the creditor structure. The debt shown here is calculated using data collected by the Federal Statistical Office according to national government's financial statistics definitions and differs from the Maastricht debt level because of differences in the frameworks applied (see Maastricht deficit and debt level).
