Current projections(*) concerning staff developments within the Deutsche Bundesbank expect the number of core staff to fall to 9,000 by the end of 2012. Compared with the end of 1991, when the Bundesbank employed 16,500 core staff, the 31 December 2009 figure of 9,822 represents a decline of 6,678 employees or 40 %.
