Lodgement of banknotes

The Deutsche Bundesbank has updated its banknote processing by introducing high-performance, state-of-the-art multi-denomination banknote processing systems (BPS). By 1 July 2008, all branches had been equipped with multi-denomination BPS 1120 systems. Based on the technical possibilities this system provides, the ranges of services was tailored to be more client-oriented. Using multi-denomination processing systems has made lodgement preparations, which used to be very labour intensive, obsolete.

The brochure, which is available as a download, provides an overview of in the regulations regarding banknote lodgements.
