Euro- and Cent-Coins

Monaco

On the basis of an agreement with the EU, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City can distribute Euro Coins, too.

Monaco has two coin series in circulation.

In the first series, the €2 coin shows a portrait of HSH Prince Rainier III, and the €1 coin features a double portrait of HSH Prince Rainier III and Hereditary Prince Albert II. The 10, 20 and 50 cent coins bear the Prince’s seal. The main motif of the 1, 2 and 5 cent coins is the coat of arms of the Sovereign Princes of Monaco.

The €1 and €2 coins in the second series feature the portrait of HSH Prince Albert II. The 10, 20 and 50 cent coins show the Prince’s monogram. As in the first series, the 1, 2 and 5 cent coins bear the coat of arms of the Sovereign Princes of Monaco.
