Library

The library was founded in 1948. It provides the Deutsche Bundesbank's employees with information and specialist literature. The collection is freely accessible and may also be used by external visitors. Research can be done in the library using OPAC and the card catalogues. There are books, technical magazines, electronic documents, magazine articles and papers from anthologies in the collection. The current collection is made up of 200,000 media items and 4,000 periodicals. Books may only be loaned to staff of the Deutsche Bundesbank.

The range of topics in the specialist library includes money, lending and currency (theory, policy and history), banking and stock exchanges, economic theory and policy, public finance and foreign trade (theory and policy), international agreements, organisations and people in the monetary and economic sectors, and national and international statistics.

Additional works and a collection on economic history are arranged by subject. You will find our online catalogue here.

Our technical equipment includes 10 OPACs (online catalogues), free access to the internet and photocopiers (5 cents per copy).
