With CashEDI the Deutsche Bundesbank offers its customers the possibility of carrying out transactions electronically using standardised electronic data exchanges. On the basis of GS1 international logistical standards, it is possible for professional cash handlers to electronically exchange cash-related data, such as lodgement notifications and cash orders, among themselves as well as with the Bundesbank. The Bundesbank issues a transaction-specific electronic message each time a cash payment is accepted and counted. This improves the transparency, security and also the efficiency of cash payment operations.
From 1 January 2013, it will be compulsory to carry out payment transactions electronically.
For those who are interested in this system, the General information section provides an overview of what CashEDI has to offer as well as information about access options, eligibility criteria and the standard for data exchange.
In the Access to CashEDI section, users can register as participants in the specialised procedure, CashEDI (WebEDI or file transfer). As an additional service, we provide you with all of the links you need as a user to manage the ExtraNet as well as for gaining access to the CashEDI application.
Participation in the specialised CashEDI procedure is only possible following prior registration using the customer data reporting form (only available in German).
In the Publications section, you will find all the relevant documentation about the specialised procedure, CashEDI, which is also available for download.
