This is where you will find information about the structure of the Deutsche Bundesbank’s website, the user agents that it supports (browsers) and the file formats used.

Barrier-free Information Technology Regulation (BITV)

The Deutsche Bundesbank’s website has been designed, in accordance with the BITV, to be barrier free and complies with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0 issued by the World Wide Web Consortium. In other words, the website is consistent with BITV priorities I and II and therefore meets the criteria for conformity level “Triple A” or “AAA”. The pages are also conform to HTML 4.01 and CSS.

No tables are included in the layout. Tables are used solely as a means of presenting information. Moreover, the Deutsche Bundesbank’s website can also be used if the stylesheets are switched off.

Relative rather than absolute values are used to define font size and page width on the Bundesbank’s website. The font size and the browser window can both be adjusted as the user requires.

In the case of Internet Explorer, the font size is set by selecting “View” on the menu bar and then “Font size”. In Mozilla Firefox select “View – Text size”. The pre-set font size is “Medium” (in Internet Explorer) and “100%” (in Mozilla).
