External sector statistics - Reports Z 1, Z 4 and Z 10
Please note that the English reporting forms provided on the Bundesbank Homepage
exist for information purposes only. Statistical reports to the Deutsche Bundesbank
have to be transmitted using the German reporting forms.
The forms relating
to Annex Z 1, Z 4 and Z 10 to the AWV for
reporting transactions with non-residents are given below in PDF and Excel
formats including guidelines as Word documents.
Content of the report:
Annex Z 1 to the Foreign Trade and Payments Regulation (AWV) - All outgoing payments through resident
financial institutions(exceptions: securities and financial derivatives transactions with non-residents with Annex Z 10 to the AWV)
Annex Z 4 to the Foreign Trade and Payments Regulation (AWV)
- All incoming and outgoing payments, which are not to be reported on forms
Z 1 or Z 10. All payments through residents' accounts held with non-resident
financial institutions as well as payments related to netting and clearing
arrangements
Annex Z 10 to the Foreign Trade and Payments Regulation (AWV) – All incoming and outgoing payments for sales or purchases of securities or financial derivatives as well as payments in connection with redemption of securities
If you have to submit reports regularly, we advise you to contact the Servicezentrum Außenwirtschaftsstatistik of the Deutsche Bundesbank so that you can be assigned a company identification number which is to be included in the form.

Parties required to report
Individuals,
enterprises,
banks and public authorities
if the value of the transaction exceeds € 12,500 or the equivalent.
Company identification number
(An application has to be made only in the case of electronic submission of Z 1 reports through resident credit institutions)
Enterprises and public authorities wishing to submit their reports relating to Annex Z 1 to the AWV to their credit institution in electronic form require a company identification number and a regional code for the Bundesland. The application for these master data may be submitted by e-mail to szawstat-dtazv@bundesbank.de.
This company identification number should also be entered in the reports on Annex Z 4 and Z 10 to the AWV.
Individuals should use the company identification number 00999995.
Credit institutions are requested to give the appropriate bank identification code.
Methods of submitting reports
in paper form (reporting forms Z 1, Z 4 and Z 10 including explanatory notes)
For Annex Z 1 to the Foreign Trade and Payments Regulation (AWV), the date on which the order is placed with the participating financial institution (the deadline for reports submitted electronically to the Bundesbank by financial institutions is the third day of the following month or, if this does not fall on a working day, the next working day).
For Annex Z 4 to the Foreign Trade and Payments Regulation (AWV), by the seventh day of the month following the month in which the payments were made or the transactions concluded.
For Annex Z 10 to the Foreign Trade and Payments Regulation (AWV), by the fifth day of the month following the reporting month.
