Reporting form Z 8

Please note that the English reporting forms provided on the Bundesbank Homepage exist for information purposes only. Statistical reports to the Deutsche Bundesbank have to be transmitted using the German reporting forms.

The form appended as Annex Z 8 to the Foreign Trade and Payments Regulation for reporting transactions in foreign trade and payments is provided below in PDF format along with the corresponding instructions.

Should you regularly have reports to submit, we recommend that you contact the Deutsche Bundesbank, Servicezentrum Außenwirtschaftsstatistik, 55148 Mainz. You will then be given a company identification number to use on the form.

Notes on how to complete the forms are given under “Code lists” and “Notices”. Any inquiries about the reporting of cross-boarder transactions can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) (only in German).

Annex Z 8 to the Foreign Trade and Payments Regulation

Procedure reference

Parties required to report

  • Shipping companies and
  • companies which charter ocean-going vessels

Contents of the report

All receipts from

  • sea freight, maritime charter fees and passages for residents and non-residents
  • all payments made to non-residents for chartering ocean-going vessels
  • general shipping costs and time-based rebates.

Methods of submitting reports

  • in paper form (reporting form Z 8)
  • via ExtraNet (electronic reporting)

Reporting deadline

  • By the seventh day of the month following the month in which the payments were made or the transactions concluded.
