BaFin has recognised the Bundesbank’s end-of-day reporting at 6 p.m. as sufficient documentation of the business transactions conducted by the credit institutions participating in self-collateralisation. All SC transactions that have been successfully processed by 6 p.m. are treated in the same way as intraday postings and the individual transactions do not have to be shown in the general ledger. Only transactions that remain open at the end of the day (ie 6 p.m.) are relevant for the balance sheet.
