A journey through the art collection of the Deutsche Bundesbank
The Deutsche Bundesbank has amassed several thousand works of art since it was founded in 1957. These paintings, works on paper and sculptures, the majority of which were created in the German-speaking world, are on display at the Bank's Central Office in Frankfurt am Main and also at its Regional Offices and branches across Germany. By maintaining its art collection, the Bundesbank not only embraces its cultural responsibility as a public institution, but also incorporates art into day-to-day working life.
