Bank Lending Survey for Germany (BLS)

The quarterly Bank Lending Survey for the Euro Area (BLS) comprises qualitative questions on past and expected future lending policies by participating institutions to the private non-financial sector as well as questions on credit demand. The survey, which is addressed to senior loan officers of participating banks, is conducted by the national central banks in collaboration with the European Central Bank (ECB) on a quarterly basis.

Data access

The RDSC offers access to individual bank level data as well as aggregate statistics calculated from the replies of the individual bank. The individual bank data file contains data for banks domiciled in Germany only. The aggregate statistics file contains aggregate data for Germany as well as for the full sample of all Euro countries.
