Deutsche Bundesbank and Banque de France to hold joint conference
On 21 and 22 June 2018, the Deutsche Bundesbank and the Banque de France will be holding a joint conference in Paris. International experts will come together to discuss the current challenges facing monetary policy, among them Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann and Governor of the Banque de France François Villeroy de Galhau.
The future of the euro area
The international role of the euro will be a key topic at the conference. Speakers on the subject will include Barry Eichengreen, Professor of Economics and Political Science at the University of California, Berkeley. Bundesbank Vice-President Claudia Buch and her French counterpart Sylvie Goulard will be among those taking part in a panel on the future of the euro area. Conference participants will also discuss such topics as the optimal inflation rate and the natural rate of interest.
