DESCRIPTION:Over the past many countries in Europe and Asia were plagued 
 by persistently weak economic growth and its consequences for employment
 . Other countries experienced large external and sectoral imbalances whi
 ch were deemed as non sustainable. Furthermore\, initiatives to reform t
 he financial sector and enhance its crisis resilience are still on the a
 genda. The conference aims to discuss these challenges\, to compare the 
 experiences in different regions and discuss reforms needed to overcome 
 the problems.
