DESCRIPTION:This year’s Bundesbank Autumn Conference\, organised jointly 
 with Humboldt University seeks to present high quality empirical and the
 oretical research contributions on challenges for financial markets\, fi
 nancial intermediaries\, and central banks. The event will take place in
  Frankfurt on October 1-2. Annette Vissing-Jorgensen (Federal Reserve Bo
 ard) will deliver the keynote speech.\n\nTo counter the dislocations in 
 the financial system due to the Great Financial Crisis and the Covid-pan
 demic\, central banks have vastly expanded their balance sheets\, inject
 ed additional liquidity into financial markets and intermediaries\, and 
 broadened their collateral frameworks. These measures have affected the 
 transmission of monetary policy as well as the functioning of money mark
 ets and capital markets and provide challenges for the design of monetar
 y and financial policies going forward.
