 2025\n\nObjective\n\nBasel III is a comprehensive set of reform measures
  developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision to strengthen t
 he regulation and supervision of risk management in the banking sector. 
 Specifically\, Basel III focuses on strengthening the qualitative and qu
 antitative standards within the regulatory capital framework\, introduce
 s a global liquidity framework\, deploys measures to reduce cyclicality\
 , introduces a leverage ratio and provides a basic approach to regulatin
 g systemically important banks. This one-week course seeks to impart com
 prehensive expert knowledge on major issues relating to the implementati
 on of the Basel framework\, focusing on countries in the EU\, emerging E
 urope\, and the Caucasus.\n\nThe course aims to give an overview of the 
 Basel framework and the Basel III reforms. It will focus on both theory 
 and practice\, with special attention being given to introducing the int
 ernal capital adequacy assessment process (ICAAP) and the supervisory re
 view and evaluation process (SREP). Furthermore\, topics such as the exa
 mination of the credit business and the interest rate risk in the bankin
 g book will be covered. Participants will be invited to work on case stu
 dies on specific topics of the course (in the free time after the lectur
 es) and to share their experiences by giving short presentations on spec
 ific aspects of banking supervision in their home country.\n\nContent\nt

 ies. Basic knowledge of the Basel framework is essential. Participants s
 hould also be familiar with the supervisory policies at their institutio
