 nObjective\n\nThe Basel framework is a comprehensive set of standards de
 veloped by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision to improve the reg
 ulation and supervision of the banking sector. Finalised in December 201
 7\, the full Basel III package addresses the lessons learnt from the fin
 ancial crisis.\n\nThe course aims to provide an overview of the capital 
 and liquidity requirements of the Basel III package as well as implement
 ation at the EU and national levels.\n\nContent\nIntroduction to supervi
 sion in Germany and Europe\nBrief overview and recap of the Basel framew
 ork\, the motivation behind its revisions and the finalisation of Basel 
 III\nDefinition of capital\, leverage ratio and buffer concept/macroprud
 ential aspects\nLiquidity risk – quantitative standards\, monitoring too
 ls\, management principles (including a case study)\nRisk coverage – cre
 dit risk\, operational risk\, market risk\n\nTarget group\n\nThis course
  is aimed at banking supervisors involved in the implementation of the B
 asel framework. A sound knowledge of the revised framework is essential 
 for participation. Participants should also be familiar with the supervi
 sion policies and practices of their home countries’ financial systems a
 nd be prepared to actively contribute to discussions\, e.g. by giving pr
 esentations.
