General The Azerbaijan manat (AZM), which had already been in circulation alongside the Soviet/Russian rouble since August 1992 (at a conversion rate of 10 Soviet/Russian rouble = 1 Azerbaijan manat), has been the sole legal tender since 1 January 1994. The currency conversion from Russian rouble to Azerbaijan manat occurred from 15 December 1993 at the rate of 10:1. Listed against the euro as of January 1999, see BBEX3:M:AZM:EUR:CA:AC:A01.
