On 8 April 1993, Macedonia was admitted to the United Nations under the temporary designation "the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia". With the entering into force of the Prespa Agreement on 12 February 2019, the earlier, provisional name of the country has been changed to "North Macedonia".
