We recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling rate) for 3 January 1994: official exchange rate: DEM 1 = ZWD 4.54190 / 4.691573 free market rate: DEM 1 = ZWD 4.8296 / 4.9766 Compared with the exchange rates at end-December 1993, the official exchange rate depreciated by 13.4% and the free market rate by 18.5% (on average). Free market rate at the end of January 1994: DEM 1 = ZWD 4.7950.
