Comment on 1993-04 On 13 April 1993, the Trinidad and Tobago dollar ceased to be pegged to the US dollar and a floating exchange rate was adopted. We recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling): 7 April 1993: DEM 1 = TTD 2.63237 / 2.65955 13 April 1993: DEM 1 = TTD 3.52135 / 3.62471 On the basis of these exchange rates, the Trinidad and Tobago dollar depreciated by 25.9% against the Deutsche Mark (middle rate).
Comment on 1988-08 With effect from 17 August 1988, the exchange rates (buying/selling) between the Trinidad and Tobago dollar and the US dollar of USD 1 = TTD 3.59775 / 3.63150 were changed to USD 1 = TTD 4.24734 / 4.28719; this corresponds to a depreciation of the Trinidad and To-bago dollar vis-à-vis the US dollar of 15.3%. For the Deutsche Mark, we recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling): 16 August 1988: DEM 1 = TTD 1.91055 / 1.92960 17 August 1988: DEM 1 = TTD 2.27668 / 2.29999.
