Comment on 1997 On 15 December 1997, the Solomon Islands dollar was devalued. We recorded the last exchange rates (buying/selling rate) prior and the first rates after the devaluation as follows: 14 December 1997: SBD 1 = DEM 0.4697 / 0.4679 15 December 1997: SBD 1 = DEM 0.3752 / 0.3734 On the basis of the above-mentioned rates, the Solomon Islands dollar depreciated by 20.2% (calculated on the basis of the middle rates) against the Deutsche Mark.
Comment on 1982 On 13 August 1982, the Solomon Islands dollar was devalued. We recorded the last exchange rates (buying/selling rate) prior and the first rates after the devaluation as follows: 12 August 1982: SBD 1 = DEM 2.6830 / 2.6405 13 August 1982: SBD 1 = DEM 2.4000 / 2.3615 On the basis of the above-mentioned rates, the Solomon Islands dollar depreciated by 10.6% (calculated on the basis of the middle rates) against the Deutsche Mark.
