General With effect from 10 May 1995, the Tajik rouble (TJR) was introduced as legal tender. The Russian rouble (RUR) was converted to Tajik rouble at a rate of 100:1. On 30 October 2000, another currency conversion took place at the rate of TJR 1,000 = 1 somoni (TJS); for exchange rates as of October 2000 see BBEX3.M.TJS.USD.CA.AC.A01.
