General * Temporary multiple exchange rate system. Exchange rates until December 2004, see BBEX3:M:IQD:USD:CA:AC:A01. In July 2017, we were made aware of the following limitations in the official exchange rate's scope of application: The official exchange rate applies only to foreign exchange transactions between the central bank and domestic and foreign commercial banks, public sector institutions, money transfer institutions and foreign exchange bureaux. At the same time, we learned of additional market exchange rates, see BBEX3:M:IQD:USD:CA:AB:B01. Since March 2023 no market rates have been available.

Comment on 2023-02 With effect from 8 February 2023, the official exchange rates were adjusted more sharply. We recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling): 7 February 2023 USD 1 = IQD 1,450.00/1,460.00 8 February 2023 USD 1 = IQD 1,300.00/1,310.00 Calculated appreciation: 11.5% (calculated on the basis of the middle rates).
Comment on 2020-12 With effect from 20 December 2020, the official exchange rates were adjusted more sharply. We recorded the following exchange rates (buying/selling): 17 December 2020 USD 1 = IQD 1182.00/1190.00 20 December 2020 USD 1 = IQD 1450.00/1460.00 Calculated devaluation: 18.5%.
