DESCRIPTION:Objective\n\nIn recent years\, Central Bank Digital Currencie
 s (CBDCs) have been at the forefront of discussions about the future of 
 payment systems. The Eurosystem is currently preparing for the potential
  launch of a digital euro.\n\nAs a novel form of public money\, a retail
  CBDC could not only drive innovation in the payments sector but also pr
 ovide a stable foundation for the digital era and enhance competition wi
 thin the payment landscape. In collaboration with its Eurosystem partner
 s\, the Bundesbank is exploring the optimal design for the digital euro 
 to meet the growing demand for digital currency.\n\nThis course will fam
 iliarise participants with the design features of the forthcoming digita
 l euro and explore the rationale\, use cases\, benefits\, and potential 
 risks associated with CBDCs. Additionally\, the course will cover develo
 pments in wholesale CBDC and examine the role of stablecoins and cryptoc
 urrencies.\n\nThe panel will provide a platform for exchanging experienc
 es and sharing information. All attendees are expected to actively engag
 e in discussions and are encouraged to contribute\, for example by givin
 g presentations on relevant topics from their national perspective.\n\nC

 on and financial stability\nMonetary policy implications of CBDC\nThe fu
 ture of financial infrastructure (wholesale CBDC)\nStablecoins and crypt

 d policymakers in central banks who wish to deepen their understanding o
 f digital central bank currencies and related central bank activities. P
 articipants should have a solid background in CBDC-related issues or in 
 areas such as payment systems\, monetary policy\, financial stability\, 
 or banking supervision.\n\nA distinctive feature of this course is the o
 pportunity to gain insights from global CBDC initiatives.\n\nAttendees w
 ill be expected to engage actively with contributions such as presentati
 ons or participation in roundtable discussions.
