DESCRIPTION:Objective\n\nSupervisors need to adapt to banks’ new business
  models. Information technology is becoming ever more important to the f
 unctioning of banks and banking supervision – bringing risks and opportu
 nities. At the same time\, resources are limited and supervisors must ad
 apt by striving for greater quality and efficiency.\n\nThis panel provid
 es an overview of supervisory and regulatory approaches to digital banks
 \, cloud outsourcing and penetration tests (EU DORA)\, as well as crypto
 -assets (EU MiCAR). The sessions will also discuss the issues and challe
 nges that banking supervisors face during their own transformation\, e.g
 . in relation to digitalisation and big data\, but also to supervisory s
 trategy development\, or second line of defense.\n\nThe focus will be on
  both theory and practice wherever possible.\n\nContents\nIntroduction t
 o supervision in Germany and Europe\nSelected topics\, e.g. digital bank
 s or fintechs\, crypto-assets\, digital operational resilience\, cloud o
 utsourcing\, penetration tests\, SupTech\, banks’ use of AI/ML in intern
 al models\, supervisory approaches to enhancing quality and efficiency\n
 \nTarget group\n\nThis course is aimed at banking supervisors. They shou
 ld have a thorough understanding of the supervisory initiatives and inno
 vation strategy at their central bank or supervisory authority and activ
 ely share their knowledge with other participants in the panel. Active p
 articipation\, in the form of a short presentation on one of these topic
 s\, and willingness to share own experiences and national approaches is 
 essential.
