DESCRIPTION:Objective\n\nAn effective and risk-oriented internal audit fu
 nction is an essential part of the responsible management of central ban
 ks. It supports the oversight of governance\, risk and control systems\,
  thus making an important contribution to the stability and integrity of
  central bank business processes.\n\nThe course provides a practice-orie
 nted overview of current developments and challenges facing internal aud
 it functions at central banks. It starts with fundamental aspects such a
 s reporting lines to the Executive Board\, internal and external quality
  assurance\, interconnectedness with the ERM Office\, organisational and
  resource issues\, and formats for interaction with stakeholders.\n\nAn 
 overview of a contemporary audit universe then shows how it is structure
 d as a basis for planning\, conducting\, and documenting audit engagemen
 ts. Keywords such as risk methodology\, audit strategy\, IIA topical req
 uirements and audit tools and software are also taken into account here.
 \n\nThe audit topics “Banking supervision and financial stability” and “
 Data and analysis” are two main areas of expertise. The audit units resp
 onsible at the Deutsche Bundesbank will present a typical audit procedur
 e and special features of the respective area. This is complemented by s
 horter contributions on other selected topics. These include\, for examp
 le\, BCM\, compliance\, payments\, digital currencies\, cybersecurity\, 
 corporate governance and third-party risk.\n\nIn addition\, the course e
 xplicitly provides space for the exchange of experience and\, in order t
 o facilitate a useful discussion\, also includes short contributions fro
 m the group of participants.  \n\nTarget group\n\nThe course is primaril
 y aimed at examiners and managers involved in internal audit activities.
  It is also suitable for participants with less than senior- or expert-l
 evel experience\, provided they have a basic understanding of internal a
 udit. Although the course focuses on topics related to third-line functi
 ons\, representatives of audit and control bodies from second-line funct
 ions are equally welcome.
