DESCRIPTION:Objective\n\nIn recent years\, Central Bank Digital Currencie
 s (CBDCs) have been at the forefront of discussions regarding the future
  of payment systems. The Eurosystem is currently preparing for the launc
 h of a digital euro. \n\nAs a novel form of public money\, a retail CBDC
  could not only spur innovation in the payment sector but also serve as 
 a stable foundation in the digital era. It may also enhance competition 
 within the payment landscape. In collaboration with its Eurosystem partn
 ers\, the Bundesbank is exploring optimal designs for the digital euro t
 o satisfy the growing demand for digital currency.\n\nThis course will n
 ot only familiarise participants with the design features of the forthco
 ming digital euro but also delve into the rationale\, utilisation\, bene
 fits\, and potential risks associated with CBDCs.Additionally\, the cour
 se will cover developments in wholesale CBDC and examine stablecoins.\n\

  digital central bank currencies and the associated central bank activit

 ues or related topics in payment systems\, monetary policy\, financial s
