DESCRIPTION:Description\n\nThe Basel Framework is a comprehensive set of 
 standards developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision to imp
 rove the regulation and supervision of the banking sector. An essential 
 part of it is the Basel III package\, finalised in December 2017\, that 
 addresses lessons learnt from the financial crisis. The current Basel Fr
 amework also includes the supervision of climate risk and updated Core P
 rinciples.\n\nThis one-week course seeks to impart comprehensive expert 
 knowledge on major issues relating to the implementation of the Basel Fr
 amework\, focusing on countries in the EU\, emerging Europe and the Cauc
 asus. In addition to introducing the EU supervisory review process (SREP
  and ICAAP/ILAAP)\, it will focus on both theory and practice\, with spe
 cial attention to the new standardised approaches for credit and operati
 onal risk. Furthermore\, topics such as the supervisory examination of b
 anks’ credit business as well as the supervision of NPL\, interest rate 
 risk in the banking book and ICT risks will be covered. \n\nThe course r
 equires a high level of participation\, through discussions\, case studi
 es and short participant presentations based on individual country exper
 iences. \n\nContent\nBanking supervision in the EU\nRelevant measures of
  the Basel Framework\nPillar II: Supervisory Review and Evaluation Proce
 ss (SREP) and Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process\n (ICAAP) of 
 banks in the EU\nSupervision of sustainability risks and ICT-/cyber risk
 s with a focus on EU\nSupervisory examination of credit business\nNon-pe
 rforming loan (NPL) management and resolution\nStress testing and its us
 e in supervision\nNational experience in banking supervision \n\nTarget 
 Group\n\nMid-level to senior banking supervisors from central banks and 
 supervisory authorities. Basic knowledge of the Basel Framework is essen
 tial. Participants should also be familiar with supervisory policies at 
 their institution and be prepared to actively contribute to discussions.
