DESCRIPTION:Objective\n\nThe Basel Framework is a comprehensive set of st
 andards developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision to impro
 ve the regulation and supervision of the banking sector. Finalised in De
 cember 2017\, the full Basel III package addresses lessons learnt from t
 he financial crisis. \n\nThe course aims to provide an overview of the c
 apital and liquidity requirements of the Basel III package as well as im
 plementation at the EU and national levels. \n\nContents\nIntroduction t
 o supervision in Germany and Europe\nBrief overview and recap of the Bas
 el Framework\, the motivation behind its revisions and the finalisation 
 of Basel III\nDefinition of capital\, leverage ratio and buffer concept/
 macroprudential aspects\nLiquidity risk – quantitative standards\, monit
 oring tools\, management principles (including a case study)\nRisk cover
 age – credit risk\, operational risk\, market risk\n\nTarget group\n\nTh
 is course is aimed at banking supervisors involved in the implementation
  of the Basel Framework. A sound knowledge of the revised framework is e
 ssential for participation. Participants should also be familiar with th
 e supervision policies and practices of their home countries’ financial 
 systems and be prepared to actively contribute to discussions\, e.g. via
  short presentations on national implementation.\n\nTechnical requiremen
