 initiatives is mandatory.\n\nObjective\n\nThe importance of comprehensiv
 e risk management and of keeping techniques and methodologies up to date
  at all times has been made abundantly clear by recent developments in f
 inancial markets. Stress tests are one of the instruments used by banks\
 , central banks and supervisory authorities to detect potential vulnerab
 ilities.\n\nConsequently\, banks have clearly expanded and refined their
  methodologies in this area. Banks are called upon\, not least by superv
 isors\, to conduct regular stress tests in order to ensure their capital
  adequacy. Furthermore\, stress tests are conducted by central banks for
  the purpose of stability studies.\n\nThis course aims to share comprehe
 nsive expert knowledge on stress testing. It will focus on both theory a
 nd practice wherever possible.\n\nContents\nBasic principles of stress t
 esting\nApplication of stress tests at banks\nStress tests as a source o
 f information for supervisors\nThe Bundesbank’s stress tests\, e.g. on s
 mall and medium-sized banks and on climate risk\nMacro stress tests\nEU-
 wide stress testing exercises\n\nTarget group\n\nThis course is aimed at
  experts in banking supervision or financial stability with a sound back
 ground in stress testing. They should have a thorough understanding of t
 he stress testing approaches used at their central bank and be prepared 
 to share their knowledge with the other participants in the group. Activ
 e participation in the form of a short presentation on stress testing in
 itiatives is mandatory.
