DESCRIPTION:Objective\n\nThis seminar aims to help central bank colleague
 s identify and discuss measures to strengthen the national financial mar
 ket. We will begin by discussing the difficult situation in Germany afte
 r the Second World War and illuminate the various initiatives to build a
 nd expand the German financial market. \n\nThe financial market in Germa
 ny is one of the most highly developed worldwide. A multi-faceted and hi
 ghly liquid financial market was forged there thanks to the combined eff
 orts of multiple players. The Deutsche Bundesbank has played a key role 
 in establishing and promoting this development. Together with the Minist
 ry of Finance\, the market supervisory authority and other market partic
 ipants\, it supported the emergence of a national bond market\, which wa
 s a decisive factor in the development of other financial market segment
 s and Germany’s macroeconomic success. \n\nThis course focuses on key is
 sues to consider when building a monetary and bond market based on a nat
 ional currency. Topics include the general bond market framework (e.g. i
 ssuing calendars\, auction processes\, settlement procedures). The cours
 e also provides participants with a platform to reflect upon and discuss
  similarities with their own countries. It will take the form of a mix o
 f lectures\, case study exercises\, group discussions and participant pr
 esentations.\n\nThe course will provide an overview of the various aspec
 ts that played a key role in the development of the German financial mar
 ket. \n\nContents\n\n\nHistorical and current developments to strengthen
  the financial market (e.g. standardisation of bonds\, central committee
  for capital markets\,temporary capital market restrictions)\n\n\nThe bo
 nd market’s legal framework\n\n\nMarket surveillance and market restrict
 ions\n\n\nDevelopment and application of financial support measures\n\nT
 arget group\n\nThe course is aimed at mid-level central bankers who are 
 active in the area of financial market development and who would like to
  gain an overview and a deeper understanding of strategic and operationa
 l approaches to developing financial markets. Applicants should have at 
 least two years of practical experience in the field of financial market
  development and a sound grasp of the key concepts and knowledge of the 
 fundamentals of financial market structures and operations. Participants
  are expected to make an active contribution to the course and to share 
 their knowledge and experiences with their peers. \n\nPlease note\n\nA n
 omination is required in order to participate in our in-person courses.
