Your degree – what does the course entail?

The three-year dual study programme begins on 1 October and is carried out in cooperation with the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Mosbach. Each of the six semesters comprises theoretical and practical parts. The latter part will mostly be spent at one of our Regional Offices in Stuttgart, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover or Munich, or at our Central Office in Frankfurt am Main. In addition, you will have the opportunity to study abroad for one semester. After successfully completing your degree, you will be awarded the academic title Bachelor of Science.

Course contents – what will I learn?

The focus of your theoretical studies will be the development of software systems and communication networks. Aside from informatics, subjects such as mathematics, communication technology and software engineering will be part of the curriculum. During the practical parts, you will be applying your knowledge to different IT areas of the Bundesbank and you will be working on complex issues independently. In addition, you will have the opportunity to study abroad for one semester. After successfully completing your degree, you will be awarded the academic title Bachelor of Science.

Your study conditions – attractive course conditions

You will be spending the theoretical parts of your studies at the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Mosbach. There you will be taught in small groups of around 20 to 30 students. Many students in your group are likewise employed in the finance and insurance industry. Both the small study groups and the common specialist background make a major contribution to your learning success. Accommodation will be provided, too. During both the theoretical parts in Mosbach and the practical parts of your studies, we will refund the cost of renting a flat on site. Alternatively, you will be provided with official accommodation. In addition, your travel costs will be covered by us in line with the Federal Travel Expenses Act (Bundesreisekostengesetz).

Moreover, you will receive net monthly pay of around €980 in your first year of studies.

Your prospects – what awaits me on completion of my degree?

Once you have completed your Bachelor's degree, you will be able to take on responsible tasks, especially in the field of IT systems engineering throughout Germany. You will for example work as an administrator or systems developer for networks, client server and storage systems or in the area of security infrastructure.

As a salaried employee, you will be remunerated based on the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector (Tarifvertrag des öffentlichen Dienstes). At the beginning, your gross monthly salary will be approximately €3,695 and will increase to around €4,330 during the first three years on the job.
