On our job opportunities page you will find vacancies that are to be filled by external candidates. Generally, these job offers require expert knowledge or special skills.

Depending on the vacancy, you will be working as a salaried employee in the Intermediate, Upper Intermediate or Higher Service.

You will receive an in-depth introduction not only in the form of specialist knowledge from your new colleagues, but also by means of a two-week training course. This course will provide you with an overview of the Bundesbank's tasks and organisation and will familiarise you with internal processes. The course will take place in our conference centre in Eltville am Rhein and it will give you the opportunity to meet other colleagues and to exchange experiences.

Our requirements profile

Positions in the Intermediate Service require a general certificate of secondary education (Mittlere Reife) and, if applicable, relevant work experience. For positions in the Upper Intermediate Service, you are required to have a diploma from a university of applied sciences, a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification. In order for you to enter directly into the Higher Service, a university diploma, a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification is required.

Further requirements for direct entry depend on the vacancy in question.

Independent of the career level of advertised vacancy; we expect the following of our future employees.

  • A suitable professional or university qualification with above-average results
  • If possible, relevant experience in the area of activity concerned
    (eg through work placements, relevant fields of study or work experience)
  • Very high level of proficiency in German

Generally, candidates should possess the following knowledge and skills.

  • A high level of proficiency in English
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
