Internship with a focus on analysing micro price data in the PRISMA research network

We are offering motivated and qualified students a paid internship in our Directorate General Economics to analyse micro price data in the PRISMA research network.

Location: Frankfurt am Main, Germany
Start date: to be agreed
Duration:  3 to 6 months

What we have to offer

The Bundesbank is examining price-setting behaviour at the micro level within the framework of the ESCB Price-setting Microdata Analysis Network (PRISMA). The focus here is particularly on data from official consumer and producer price statistics as well as web-scraped data.
As an intern, you will work in PRISMA on a project basis, preferably on the development of nowcasting and analysis models using web-scraped price data. Alternatively, you may submit a project of your own using the aforementioned datasets. Your results can also be incorporated into a master's thesis.

What we are looking for

  • Master's or PhD students with very good knowledge of economics and econometrics
  • Prior knowledge regarding the empirical analysis of microdata would be desirable
  • Sound knowledge of Stata and/or R would be an advantage
  • Very good command of written and spoken English
