The Bundesbank's “Language Services” Division provides services to the Bundesbank and the European Central Bank. Using state-of-the-art language technologies, we translate, edit and proofread texts from all areas of central banking.
Valuable work: your role with us
- You will translate and post-edit, from German to English, the Bundesbank’s monthly and annual reports, press releases, speeches and interviews by our Executive Board members, contractual documents or input for social media and our website
- You will translate and post-edit in Trados Studio using the Language Weaver Edge machine translation plug-in
- You will edit texts applying the principles of plain language/clear writing using AI-based tools
- You will mine translations for terminology and help keep our MultiTerm terminology database up-to-date
Unique assets: your skills and qualifications
- Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in translation or interpretation
- Native speaker proficiency in English as well as a sound knowledge of German (C 1)
- Additional proficiency in foreign languages, especially French, would be a bonus
- Experience in post-editing machine translation output and using AI (translation) tools
- Experience using CAT tools (translation memories, terminology entry, etc.), ideally using Trados Studio
- Experience in editing texts and in clear writing would be an advantage
- Willingness to work on Saturdays or extra hours on a case-by-case basis when translating publications to tight deadlines
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Remuneration and prospects
Remuneration that corresponds to pay grade E 14 of the wage agreement for the public sector (Tarifvertrag für den öffentlichen Dienst – TVöD) plus a bank allowance, international working environment, varied tasks
