Readspeaker text-to-speech service
ReadSpeaker webReader is a service which reads website content aloud. You do not need to install any software to be able to use the text-to-speech tool.
The tool reads aloud the texts on the Bundesbank’s website, making content more accessible and aiding users who have trouble reading online texts. Among other things, ReadSpeaker can come in useful if, for instance, you wish to take notes while the software reads aloud particular passages. The text is also highlighted in colour so that it can easily be followed – no matter which end device you are using.
Launch ReadSpeaker by clicking on the loudspeaker icon on the far right-hand side of our web page.
A control panel will appear (see the picture below) and ReadSpeaker will automatically start reading aloud the text on the page.
Use the control panel to:
- pause and resume the reading;
- stop the reading;
- skip forwards and backwards;
- adjust the volume;
- adjust the reading speed;
- close the player.
Alternatively, you can select individual passages on the site to be read aloud. Use the cursor to highlight the text you want to hear and then activate the text-to-speech function by clicking on the “Listen” button which appears.
Selected PDFs on our website can be read aloud by the ReadSpeaker docReader service.
The PDFs in question have a “Listen” button for you to click. When viewing lists on the desktop version of the website, the button appears when you hover over the PDFs with your mouse.
The document will open in a new window under the service provider’s URL (https://docreader.readspeaker.com/...) and will then be read aloud by ReadSpeaker docReader.
For further information about docReader, visit the service provider’s website (see link at the bottom of the page) or click on the question mark button in the top toolbar of docReader when it is open.
