SUMMARY:Michael Riedel – Geldmacher
TRANSP:TRANSPARENT
UID:riedel_michael_616264
DESCRIPTION:The point of departure for Michael Riedel’s exhibition "Geldm
acher" (Money maker) at the Bundesbank's Money Museum is the system behi
nd cash. Display cases contain bundles of banknotes printed on original
banknote paper. However\, this art(ificial) money is black and white: va
rying from the norm\, it follows its own logic. Based on an exchange of
emails between Michael Riedel and his art gallery\, this work alludes to
the relationship between art and money. Also on display is a series of
prints based on a program code used in cash logistics. Comprising 77 ind
ividual sheets\, this series creates aesthetic structures which visualis
 e digitally controlled\, and therefore unseen\, processes.\n\n[EMBEDDED]
