DESCRIPTION:Payments infrastructure is an important topic of interest to 
 both China and Germany. It plays a key role for the economy and is curre
 ntly developing at a rapid pace. On behalf of the Bundesbank and the Peo
 ple’s Bank of China\, we are pleased to announce a virtual conference on
  the subject of “Fintech and the global payments landscape – exploring n
 ew horizons” on 14 September 2021. We are confident that we can mutually
  benefit from the experience both countries have gained. China has becom
 e one of the world’s most innovative and globally successful payments ma
 rkets. At the same time\, the European payments landscape is currently u
 ndergoing profound change thanks to instant payments\, for example. Agai
 nst this background\, the conference will bring together experts and hig
 h-level representatives from various institutions and actors in this fie
 ld. They will discuss current issues which affect the Chinese as well as
  the European and German payments markets\, such as mobile payments\, th
 e potential and risks of distributed ledger technologies in financial se
 rvices\, fintech and innovative business models in China and Germany\, a
 nd challenges in cross-border payments.
