Harmonised indices of consumer prices of the euro area countries Indices: 2015=100

Breakdown by type of product (aggregates mainly used by the ECB)

This table shows consumer price developments as measured by the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) for the euro area and the euro area countries. The figures shown are index values. The index reference year is 2015=100. A value of 110, for example, indicates that prices have increased by 10% since 2015. The breakdown corresponds to the European Classification of Individual Consumption according to Purpose (ECOICOP) adapted to the needs of the HICP. For more information on this classification please refer to the Eurostat HICP website (see “External links”).

The breakdown shown is the one mainly used by the ECB. The aggregates, which are compiled by Eurostat and provide an alternative presentation of HICP data, are useful for economic analysis.
