General * Until March 2012, in addition to the official published rates, there were other rates which deviated substantially from the official rates; however, we do not have any details. At the beginning of April 2012, a managed floating exchange rate regime was introduced; since then, indicative rates have been published.
Methodology Calculated on the basis of month-end rates (until 2011, on the basis of buying and selling rates).

Comment on 2022 With effect from 5 August 2022, the exchange rate for the US dollar was changed from USD 1 = MMK 1,850 to USD 1 = MMK 2,100; this corresponds to a depreciation of the kyat vis-à-vis the US dollar of 11.9%. For the euro, the following rates became known to us as the last before and the first after the change: 4. August 2022: 1 EUR = 1,884.30 MMK 5. August 2022: 1 EUR = 2,148.00 MMK
