The financial stability reviews produced by the Bundesbank and other central banks have become a well-established tool, Bundesbank President Joachim Nagel said at an event held by the Bundesbank in Frankfurt am Main to mark the 20th anniversary of the Financial Stability Review. At the event, Bundesbank Executive Board member Michael Theurer, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the ECB Claudia Buch, and representatives from supervisory authorities, academia and banking discussed the challenges facing financial stability. 

The risks to the German financial system have increased, as reported in the Bundesbank’s latest Financial Stability Review. The German economy is faced with structural challenges, and the high valuations in equity and bond markets pose the risk of larger, sudden market price corrections, Bundesbank Executive Board member Michael Theurer said at the presentation of the Financial Stability Review in Frankfurt.
