The external sector is divided into two business areas in NExt:

• External sector reporting systems – Banks (AWB)
• External sector reporting systems – Nonbanks / Individuals (AWN).

The business areas are broken down into other business topics.

The Deutsche Bundesbank will take care of setting up user managers and extending the authorizations of existing user managers for the “AWB” work area. Please send the completed forms for appointing user managers to AMS@bundesbank.de.

A simplified registration procedure will be available in NExt for the “AWN” work area. Activation for AWN is possible immediately. Please have your registration number ready and note the order of registration for user managers. The first two registered users will become user managers immediately.

If you are already a NExt user, you will probably be able to expand the external sector topics in NExt yourself from mid-December 2025.
