In einer gemeinsamen Studie mit Herrn Prof. Friedrich Schneider von der Johannes Kepler Universität Linz wird die illegale Bargeldnachfrage in Deutschland untersucht. Die Studie enthält einen Überblick über die volkswirtschaftliche Forschung zur Bargeldverwendung in der Schattenwirtschaft und zudem eigene empirische Untersuchungen. Diese beschäftigen sich damit, welchen Einfluss die Schattenwirtschaft auf Bareinzahlungen bei den Filialen der Deutschen Bundesbank und die Nachfrage nach Banknoten in Deutschland hat.
