Speaking at an event in Frankfurt am Main, he noted that an effective and, at the same time, balanced path had been taken. He reminded the audience that the agreed reforms now need to be rigorously implemented.

Die Banken im Euro-Währungsgebiet arbeiten unter Hochdruck an der Umsetzung eines neuen Rechnungslegungsstandards, der in der Folge der Finanzkrise eingeführt wurde. Gemäß dem Internationalen Rechnungslegungsstandard (International Financial Reporting Standard – IFRS) 9, der am 1. Januar 2018 in Kraft tritt, sind Kreditverluste von den Finanzinstituten früher zu erfassen als bislang vorgeschrieben.
