Statement concerning technical central bank cooperation with Bangladesh
The Deutsche Bundesbank has shelved a prospective cooperative venture with the Central Bank of Bangladesh regarding counterfeit prevention until further notice. This decision was triggered by press reports that Bangladesh is planning to threaten to impose the death penalty for serious cases of counterfeiting.

Am gemeinsamen europäischen Haus wird kräftig gebaut. Am 29. Juni 2012 kündigten die Staats- und Regierungschefs in einer gemeinsamen Erklärung[1] unter anderem an, dass sie einen einheitlichen Aufsichtsmechanismus für Banken (Single Supervisory Mechanism – SSM) unter dem Dach der Europäischen Zentralbank (EZB) errichten wollen. Das Bauvorhaben ist nur ein – wenn auch ein zentraler – Bauabschnitt des umfassenderen Gesamtprojekts „Bankenunion“.
