Von 2013 bis 2019 haben die Europäische Zentralbank (EZB) und die nationalen Zentralbanken des Eurosystems eine zweite Euro-Banknotenserie ein – die sogenannte „Europa-Serie“ eingeführt. Die weiterentwickelte Banknotenserie bietet mit ihren verbesserten Sicherheitsmerkmalen noch mehr Schutz vor Fälschungen.
