The Bundesbank posted a profit of €1 billion for the 2016 financial year, representing a year-on-year fall of €2.2 billion. Speaking at the press conference on the annual accounts, Bundesbank President Jens Weidmann attributed this to higher risk provisioning. Distributable profit in 2016 amounted to €0.4 billion.

German balance of payments in December 2024
Germany’s current account recorded a surplus of €24.0 billion in December 2024, up €2.1 billion on the previous month’s level. The surplus in the goods account decreased sharply, but the surplus in invisible current transactions, which comprise services as well as primary and secondary income, increased more strongly.

Neupriorisierung von Aufgaben infolge der Covid-19-Pandemie bei weitgehend gleichbleibenden Kosten gegenüber 2019. Nach Umstellung auf nachträgliche Inrechnungstellung zahlen Banken die Gebühren erst im zweiten Quartal 2021.
