The March 2022 edition of the Monthly Report features an article on monetary policy in a protracted phase of low interest rates, discussing the concept of the reversal rate. In addition, it analyses Germany’s balance of payments for 2021.

The October 2023 edition of the Monthly Report examines whether German and euro area price competitiveness is favourable. It also describes how state government finances developed in 2022 and finds that, despite large surpluses overall, recourse to emergency loans was extensive in some cases.

The December 2022 edition of the Bundesbank’s Monthly Report describes the outlook for the German economy for 2023 to 2025. Furthermore, it discusses the recent rise in energy prices in the context of Germany’s price competitiveness. The report also features an article entitled “Access to cash in Germany – results of a representative public survey”.

In addition, it describes the national implementation of the European banking package in Germany through the Risk Reduction Act (Risikoreduzierungsgesetz – RiG) and analyses the profitability and financing of German enterprises in 2019.
