In an interview with the German newspaper “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung”, Bundesbank Vice-President Claudia Buch notes that, as a result of the extensive crisis packages, the problems faced by enterprises have barely reached the banking sector so far. “However, we should increasingly expect them to do so in the second half of the year. Credit defaults will then start to weigh more heavily on banks’ balance sheets and capital,” she explains.
